[105] Intuition Podcast: My Best Technique To Avoid Distortion + Free Intuitive Reading on Neck Pain
Free Intuitive Reading: Neck Pain Physical Symptom
So today’s intuitive reading is for a woman who feels really stuck in an issue she’s having with neck pain. She’s having a hard time turning her neck. It’s stiff, you know, so it’s not an accident—meaning she wasn’t in a car accident. It just is stiff now to the point where it’s really uncomfortable to work or to do her daily things.
So this is where she’s stuck. So let’s see what we have here.
Intuition Requests and Readings
I do love giving readings, and so if you go to my website at leftbrainintuitive.com/ask, you can fill out a form and let me know where you’re stuck.
Note that this is anonymous.
I don’t need to know your name. I don’t need to know your email.
I just need to know where you’re stuck and for you to describe that to me.
So let me just walk you through how I do these kinds of readings.
What You Most Need to Hear
The first thing I always ask is, what do you most need to hear? I usually don’t say that out loud, but I say it in my head. And the reason I do that is because sometimes there are things that are not directly related to the question, but they’re really important for you to hear today.
And I want to give space for that kind of intuitive intelligence to come in and say, “Hey, you didn’t ask about this, but this would really help.” So what do you most need to hear today?
Just because you’ve been trying for a long time, it doesn’t mean that something is impossible. It doesn’t mean that something is wrong, and it doesn’t mean that something is missing. Sometimes there’s things that you spend a lot of time on trying to figure out, and there’s a lot of reasons why it might take a long time. That doesn’t equate your process with you being lost or not knowing what to do.
Intuition and Emotional Energy
I see this in your energy. When we are swimming in a lake, and all of a sudden we lose our footing—maybe you were standing on a rock and then there was a little wave lapping, and then you lost your footing for a moment and you kind of sank a little bit in the lake. We panic because for a brief moment, maybe your head was under the water.
Your energy is panicked about this particular issue around your neck stiffness. It’s really panicked, and now you’re imagining all kinds of worst-case scenarios about this.
Now remember, I don’t read your thoughts. I just read your energy, which is located around your physical body. So the information that I’m reading is stored in your physical body and it radiates out with a magnetic field—kind of like a hard drive.
And I don’t read your thoughts, but your thoughts leave an imprint on this hard drive over time.
The Role of Fear and Seeking
So the more you have thoughts, the more it’ll leave an imprint and it’ll leave me a trace of what you’ve been thinking about.
Now if you have a fleeting thought, I have no idea. I’m not going to see that. So right now, I don’t know what you’re thinking about, but I can see that this state of panic has been there for a while.
Now you’re thinking, what if this is a spinal thing? What if this is some kind of cancer? I don’t see the specifics, but I see that there’s a sort of mounting panic around this symptom. Even though right now the problem you’re having is that stiffness—and the stiffness of course leads to pain, you know, like fatigue that leads to that kind of pain in your neck.
It’s kind of like you lost your footing for a moment and you sank under the waterline of the lake and then you panicked. And when we do that, we tend to do something that is not always beneficial, which is we reach out. We ask people for their opinion, we talk about this problem, we say, “Okay, do you have an idea of what’s wrong? Who do I need to see? What doctor? Google: What kinds of cancer can give you pain in your neck?”
There’s something very frantic in your energy about this symptom and it led you to reach outward, which is creating a lot of distortion.
Intuition Needs Clarity
Distortion is kind of like—let’s say you’re sitting on the side of a pond and the answer can be projected on the clear surface. Distortion is like if somebody was putting their finger in there and creating ripples. It’s much harder to see what is being put in the pond for you—the answer.
And when you ask other people for their opinion in a frantic sort of way, it creates all kinds of ripples in the water and you cannot see anymore.
We need a clear, calm surface here to see this message, to see your next step. And so this is the problem you’ve been having. This is why you’ve been stuck. The solution that you turned to when you had that moment of panic—when your neck was hurting and you couldn’t figure it out—has just created more and more distortion.
Soul-Level Insights on Intuition
So what is the root cause of your neck pain? This is usually the second question that I ask in an intuitive reading. What is the root cause—not the surface stuff, not the story—just really fundamentally. And I try to go at the soul-deep level because I find that most people who turn to me have already tried all the other stuff.
They’re desperate, which is totally fine. I’m kind of the Hail Mary. And I find that in these cases, the answer they’re looking for is usually at the soul level.
So at the soul level, the problem with your neck is that you have slowly restricted your options.
The Cost of Avoidance and Fear
You’ve made choices in a desire to make the right decision, in a desire to protect yourself. So you’re trying to not be wrong and not be hurt. You have slowly restricted your choices. You’ve taken less risk. You’ve eliminated potential opportunities because “eh, they might not work out.”
There’s a lot of negatives—meaning “no” or “not.” You’re literally trying to avoid something. And that’s tricky because when we try to avoid, that’s our destination. Our intuition can’t help us because it’s designed to give us the steps toward what we want.
As long as you think about this in terms of what you don’t want, your intuition can’t help you. Because it knows you don’t want this.
And as long as you think of your neck pain as a problem, as long as you think of your life as needing protection, you’re dancing with the problem. You can’t think about protection without thinking about danger. Protection systems are there to keep danger away.
Put Your Intuition to Work
So let’s do that right now. What if we were to look for what you want at the soul-deep level? You want to feel safe.
There’s been a lot of hurt in your life, and you see the hurt in other people’s lives as well. And this is all true. There’s no denying there’s a lot of hurt everywhere. But you can choose to live your life dancing with pain by trying to dodge it—but you’re always engaged with it. You have to keep an eye on it.
Or you can live your life focused on feeling safe. What makes you feel safe? What makes you feel like, “Oh, this is comfortable”?
You’ve almost forgotten what it is to be comfortable in your neck.
As soon as you say that—“What is feeling safe for me? What is feeling comfortable in my neck?”—your intuition can help you. We’re not stuck anymore because your intuition knows this is what you want. Your intuition is a very strict operator—it needs to know what you want in order to guide you.
If we don’t know what that is, your intuition can’t help you. There’s no room for interpretation here. And I don’t know why it works that way. I just know that it does. Most of my readings involve rephrasing problems into wants.
Living from Safety, Not Fear
As long as you see your life as needing protection from danger, you will be dancing with danger, and you will see danger everywhere. And it’s going to get worse and worse and worse, as it did here.
As long as you see your life as needing to avoid hurt by minimizing risk, you are bound to get hurt—because you’re constantly scanning for pain, keeping an eye on it so it doesn’t sneak up on you.
This introduces distortion because now you’re afraid. You see hurt everywhere. You see danger everywhere. Not literally, because you’re not thinking about it all the time, but in your energetic “hard drive,” this is the dominant thought you’ve been having: “The world is a dangerous place. The world is full of hurt.”
And yet, the world is also a place where some people feel completely safe.
It is also a place where people are just naturally protected. They intuitively avoid harm. They don’t feel like going to a certain place one day—and they don’t. And in that way, they avoid a problem.
Redirecting Intuition Toward Safety
You can feel very safe in the same life that you have right now.
If you start to focus on that—pay attention to that—and ask your intuition to take you in the direction of what you want: feeling more safe and feeling more comfortable in your body.
And intuition can definitely do that. Even as I said this, I could feel your intuition already kind of lurching forward to give you your next step.
So I hope that gives you a new direction. Really, that’s what this needs—a new direction. It’s not going to happen overnight. You’re not going to stop seeing the world in pain overnight. But what if you started today?
What if today you started to think about, “Okay, how can I be more comfortable?” And then you ask your intuition for your next step.
Techniques to Clear Intuitive Distortion
And whatever way you need to do that—if you don’t have a way to ask your intuition—I would be really delighted for you to look at my intuitive algorithm. It’s a protocol that I use to get a clean intuitive insight. You can sign up for the free masterclass on my website.
Just so you have something to do that you know works, that you know is clean, to get an intuitive insight about your life.
All the women who listen to me—through my podcast, my website, however you found me—they are intuitive.
That’s how they find me. I don’t do marketing. So it’s through intuition that women find me.
Which means you are very intuitive if you’re listening to this. And that makes me very happy, because I know that you can find your way out.
Understanding Intuition’s Pitfalls
So today we’re talking about my best technique to prevent distortion when you’re tapping into your intuition.
Even if you’re a very highly intuitive woman, it’s possible that you’ll get hit with the three big problems when trying to get intuitive insight for yourself:
Collision – where instead of listening to your intuition, you listen to your logic or conscious mind.
Pollution – where other people’s opinions and thoughts come in and color the intuitive message.
Distortion – where the message itself gets warped. You might miss something critical, or receive a yes when the true answer is no.
Healing Intuitive Injury
There’s a story I remember about a professional intuitive—very famous—who had been giving readings for decades. She went into business with someone who ended up robbing her blind. Her business collapsed. She later wrote a book and included that story.
She mentioned that people assume intuitives always know what to do. That everything will go right. But that’s like expecting a doctor never to get sick, or a dentist not to have cavities.
Being intuitive doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes. But the advantage is that you won’t stay stuck long. You’ll have a faster turnaround time.
If you’ve had too many confusing, inaccurate messages from your intuition, you might stop trusting it. I call that an intuitive injury, and it’s usually caused by distortion.

Intuition and Emotional Neutrality
So the technique that I’d like to show you today is specifically designed to avoid distortion. Now with my experience, it’s never completely gone. Even as a professional intuitive, when I’m in a reading, sometimes I’ll have a smidge of distortion.
The big difference is—I can feel it. I can tell when I’m distorting, and then I can stop mid-sentence, clear myself up, and then keep going from a cleaner place.
This particular technique has a very simple way to avoid distortion. It completely short circuits the logical mind, which causes a lot of distortion.
We also short circuit emotional distortion.
So if you’re really upset, the chances that you will distort your intuitive insight is exponentially higher.
The Black and White Intuition Technique
Alright, so I call this the black and white technique. It’s one of the techniques in my free Intuition On-Demand Masterclass. I think back then I called it the Best Binary Decision. I’ve since renamed it, but it’s the same technique.
So I thought we could do it right now. Let’s say that you have a question that you want to ask about.
This technique, the black and white technique, is about comparing two things—two options.
I usually like to use “yes” and “no” because they are very different.
Intuition in Yes-No Decisions
There are a few ways that we combat distortion.
The first one is: we make it really obvious. Comparing black and white is really easy. Comparing two shades of gray—any artist will tell you—is really hard.
They look so much more similar.
So the first thing is, whatever area of your life where you’d like to get an intuitive insight—why don’t you ask a yes/no question right now?
What would be a yes/no question?
We’re doing a bootcamp right now on upgrading your career with intuition.
So if you feel stuck in your career right now, here’s a good question: Is it time right now for me to move on to a different career?
That’s a big yes/no, black/white kind of question—perfect for this technique.
Preparing the Intuition Channel
There are two things we’re going to do.
The first one is: we’re going to make sure that you are emotionally neutral so we don’t have distortion this way.
And the second way is: we’re going to make sure that we don’t use words—because words are the domain of the logical mind, and there’s way more distortion when we receive words than if we receive an image or a sensation in the body.
I’m going to walk you through it.
This works a little bit better if you can stand up while you’re doing this.
I want you to just, for a moment, pay attention to the place where your feet meet the ground.
There’s gravity there, right? There’s a sensation where your foot is touching your sock or your slipper or the floor.
Just for a moment, put your attention there—to that very grounding location.
Using Intuition Through the Body
Now close your eyes.
We’re going to count backwards from 21, but we are going to count only the odd numbers.
21, 19, 17, 15, 13, 11, 9, 7, 5, 3, 1.
Keep your eyes closed.
Open up your hands as if you’re holding two oranges in front of you.
On the left hand, there’s the no answer. On the right hand, there’s the yes answer.
You don’t have to memorize that, by the way.
And I want you to pay attention to your hands.
We’re going to ask you a question, and I want you to pay attention to which hand feels lighter, which hand looks brighter, which hand is lifting up as if it’s bubbling up.
So go ahead and think about your question—your yes or no question—and then pay attention to your hands.
Which hand do you get?
The left hand was no, and the right hand was yes.
Rebuilding Trust in Intuition
So here you have a very simple way to avoid distortion. It’s not using words.
You’re emotionally neutral, to avoid distortion again.
You’re getting an insight from your intuition on one of its preferred channels of communicating with you—which is through an image or a physical sensation.
Now, this is not the way that I give an intuitive reading.
When I give a reading, I use full sentences and it makes sense logically as I’m reading your energy.
But this is a great technique to use when you feel completely stuck—and it’s likely that you’re distorting because you feel very upset.
If you can get to that calm emotional place, you can get an answer for your next step.
And sometimes the next step is as small as, Should I go out to the grocery store today or stay home?
Notice those are two different, opposing choices.
And you can get just a quick, intuitive insight about that.
I know it doesn’t sound like much, but what if that’s the difference between you getting a clean, intuitive insight—and being able to make a small decision today that moves you forward?
So that over the days and weeks that follow, you don’t feel stuck anymore because you were able to move forward with clarity.
Alright, that’s all I’m getting for today. I’ll talk to you soon.
